Scott Frost provides reaction to Big Ten's additions of USC, UCLA

Some of the biggest topics at Big Ten Media Days have surrounded USC and UCLA. How did their addition to the conference happen and what does it mean for the future? Nebraska’s Scott Frost was one of the coaches specifically asked about their addition.
“Yeah, it’ll be interesting,” Scott Frost said. “I don’t think any of us think that the changes are done yet. I definitely think it probably opens up some area to the west of us. We’re the farthest west team in the Big Ten, and it probably opens up some area for us to try to utilize in recruiting.”
“But we’ll see where the chips fall when all the dust settles and everything is done. Welcome those guys with open arms. I’ve coached against both those teams a lot and know what they can bring to the table. Really want to complement our leadership in this league for being proactive. I think that move probably ensures that the Big Ten’s going to be relevant and one of the players no matter how college football ends up falling.”
Scott Frost was tentative to speak in absolutes about the move. His time at Oregon does give him some insight into those two programs, but they’re also going to change as they shift conferences. Notably, Frost is hoping that their addition makes it easier for Nebraska to recruit in California.

Ultimately, Scott Frost was incredibly complimentary of the move.
“I wasn’t completely surprised but I was excited for our league,” Scott Frost said. “I think it’s a very smart thing that they did to get out in front of any changes that are being made and kind of ensure our spot in college football no matter where the dust settled.”
Scott Frost on how realignment helps Nebraska
The future is impossible to know. USC and UCLA’s addition to the Big Ten opens up numerous possibilities and questions. With that comes the possibility that this is a very good thing for Nebraska, a program looking to find its footing in the 21st century. Scott Frost discussed the possibility.
“Potentially,” Scott Frost said. “We’ll see how that works out. I think some more dominos are going to have to fall before you know exactly the breakdown of where everything is. Potentially could open up some recruiting areas for us.”
