Scott Frost updates Travis Vokolek's injury status after Week 0 departure
Nebraska head coach Scott Frost provided a tidbit on the status of tight Travis Vokolek, who left Nebraska’s Week 0 game against Northwestern with an injury in the third quarter.
Vokolek, a senior, had five receptions for 63 yards prior to getting dinged and missing the remainder of the game. Frost was non-committal about Vokolek’s status moving ahead, but he didn’t seem overly concerned with his injury.
“He’s day-to-day, and we have a couple other guys that are day-to-day,” Frost said. Nebraska’s next game is on Saturday at home against North Dakota, followed by Georgia Southern the following week.

Frost was pleased with the performance of his senior tight end prior to his injury, and found that Nebraska wasn’t able to make a few calls they would have, had Vokolek been available.
“I thought he played a great first half. I wouldn’t say it hurt us, but it definitely changed a couple of things we were thinking about doing, without him in there,” Frost said. “He’s a real security blanket for us.”
