Tommi Hill injury update: Matt Rhule reveals Nebraska CB's status vs. Indiana
Nebraska is getting back a key piece of its secondary for Saturday’s game at Indiana. Cornerback Tommi Hill is good to go for the game against the Hoosiers, according to Pete Thamel.
The ESPN insider revealed the news on Twitter Saturday morning.
“Nebraska coach Matt Rhule tells ESPN that he expects star cornerback Tommi Hill to play at Indiana. He’s missed the last two games with a foot injury,” Thamel posted.
Tommi Hill has been out for the last two games with a plantar fascia injury that he’s been dealing with in his foot.
Matt Rhule said earlier in the week that he was unsure if Hill would be able to play or not.
“Tommi, we’ll get him to the game, see if he can go.” Matt Rhule said. “I think that’s the biggest one. Everyone else is healthy, ready to play. I think Tommi looks good. He’s looked good, though, a couple of weeks and hasn’t been able to go. So, we’ll see if he’s able to go.
“I’d expect Tommi to have a chance to play this week. He was all set to play last week and actually ruptured the plantar fascitis as he was running onto the field after the tunnel walk, which is a good thing because when you rupture it, it’s very painful but it alleviates the problem.”

Coming out of high school, Hill was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2021, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, when he came out of Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida. While at Nebraska, he’s earned All-Big Ten honorable mention honors. He has also twice been on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.
So far this season, Tommi Hill has appeared in four games. He’s recorded 14 tackles, as well as an interception, which he returned for a touchdown.
This is a huge game for Nebraska as the Cornhuskers are off to a 5-1 start. On the other side, Indiana has been great early on this season and is looking to remain unbeaten.
