Four-star guard Darius Carr commits to New Mexico State

Los Angeles (Calif.) Fairfax four-star recruit Darius Carr tells On3 he’s committed to New Mexico State.

The 6-foot-3 class of 2023 combo guard is the second highest-ranked recruit to choose the Aggies in school history. Only Herb Pope in 2007 ranked higher. Carr is ranked as the No. 111 overall prospect in the country according to On3.

In addition to New Mexico State, Carr also received offers from St. John’s, Washington, Xavier, Kansas State, UConn, Mississippi State, TCU, and others.

Darius Carr’s explosion pops off the page immediately. He is a quick-twitch guard who touches the paint and finishes above the rim with ferocity. His length and pop give him the tools to be a high-end on-the-ball defender. The jump shot is streaky, but he is confident with it, especially off the bounce.
