Armando Bacot details extent of injury
North Carolina Tar Heels senior center Armando Bacot had been dealing with an ankle injury going into the Indiana game. Now, it appears he’s also dealing with a shoulder injury.
After the Indiana game, Armando Bacot met with the media where he gave an update on his shoulder injury.
“Yeah, it was my shoulder and then my collarbone too,” Armando Bacot said while reaching for his right shoulder. “But, I mean, y’all know me. I’m not gonna quit on this team.”
Armando Bacot was then asked if the team’s medical staff had come up with a diagnosis for his shoulder yet.
“We don’t know exactly. I probably imagine when I get back I’ll get some x-rays or something like that.”
North Carolina ultimately lost to Indiana to fall to 5-3 on the season. For a team that was, at one point, ranked first in the AP Poll, it’s been a frustrating stretch with three straight losses.

Armando Bacot is an incredibly important part of North Carolina’s team. If the Tar Heels are going to turn things around, he has to be a part of it. This season, he’s averaging 16.1 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game.
Armando Bacot is disappointed in North Carolina’s play
For a team that played in the national championship game last season, this stretch has been frustrating. Armando Bacot even admitted to how disappointed he is with the team’s play during this difficult stretch.
“I think, individually, none of us are playing at the level we need to play at. I don’t know. We’ve just got to figure it out. We worked so hard every day this summer leading up to it. We worked our tails off…When you’re not getting the results? It’s tough,” Armando Bacot said.
“We love this school. We love everything about it and we want to win. But we’re not putting out the best product. It’s just unfortunate, it’s sad, and it’s something we have to go through. But we’re gonna grow through it and go through it as a team. I think that’s what’s most important.”
