Bill Belichick doubles down with explanation of Jordon Hudson's involvement in UNC football program

Bill Belichick‘s relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has been the center of attention in Chapel Hill this offseason. Despite rumors, Belichick has maintained that Hudson is not involved professionally with UNC football. He stuck to this narrative when asked about Hudson on Tuesday.
“No, she doesn’t have any role in the UNC football program,” Belichick said. “There’s been noise out there about a lot different things. Again, our focus is day-to-day getting better, stacking good days together, having good rest and recovery, training, moving forward the next day.
“From the coaching staff, to focus on how do we help our team get better? That’s my job. That’s our staff’s job — to put a good plan in place so that if they do the work, they see improvement. So that’s what our job is.”
Belichick’s relationship with Hudson initially appeared purely romantic. However, after CBS Sunday Morning aired an awkward interview with Belichick, in which Hudson could be seen interrupting and seemingly acting as his publicist, fans began to question if Hudson had a professional role within the football program.
These rumors were only exacerbated when reports emerged that Belichick had requested the UNC athletic department staff to copy Hudson in all emails involving him. Additionally, several videos surfaced of Hudson walking on the field during UNC practice, talking to Belichick and other staff members.

Additionally, Pablo Torre of Pablo Torre Finds Out reported that UNC “higher-ups” banned Hudson from entering any UNC football facilities following Belichick’s interview with CBS. North Carolina later refuted this report, but outsiders have continued to speculate about the truth of the situation.
Amid the chaos, Belichick hasn’t changed his tune. He most bluntly explained Hudson’s professional relation to him during an appearance on The Pivot Podcast in May.
“Well, nothing with North Carolina, that would be No. 1,” Belichick said of Hudson’s role. “It would be personal opportunities, could be a speaking thing. It could be an appearance on this, or talk about that, or somebody wants, whatever it happens to be, autographs or that type of thing.
“She’ll kind of help organize that for me. And one of the first things that came out was when North Carolina sent me emails saying, like, these people want to talk to these people and talk to these people want to talk, these people want to talk to, I sent back in the email: ‘Can you please copy Jordon on these requests?’”
