Duke at North Carolina will take center stage again on Saturday, as ESPN brought College GameDay to Chapel Hill ahead of one of college basketball’s top rivalries. Of course, freshly minted Tar Heels football coach Bill Belichick had to make an appearance.

He joined the show, taking to the desk to join Rece Davis, Jay Bilas and company. Belichick shared a message for Hubert Davis and North Carolina’s squad, as they prepare for battle with one of the top teams in the entire nation to end their regular season crusade.

“I think Hubert will do a great job,” Belichick stated, regarding his message for North Carolina ahead of their rivalry showdown with Duke. “It’s just one possession at a time. Every one is critical. Take good care of the ball. Rebound well. Play good defense. Hit your foul shots. It’ll come down to the wire.”

Perhaps Belichick has a future in basketball if the whole football thing doesn’t work out with the Tar Heels. He hit all the major notes, and he recognized how important Saturday is for North Carolina. The Tar Heels are fighting for their lives when it comes to the NCAA Tournament, and a victory over the Blue Devils could lock them in.

All told the Tar Heels are on fire, winning their last six games and looking to end the regular season schedule with its biggest victory yet. North Carolina’s last loss was a 20-point drubbing at the hands of Clemson, and they’ve certainly changed the narrative around their season since then.

Meanwhile, Duke has been one of the more consistent teams in all of college basketball all season long. Behind the incredible play of Cooper Flagg, the Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 2 in the entire nation, and they’ve only lost three games all year.

Earlier this season in Durham, the Blue Devils sent the Tar Heels home with a 17-point loss. Kon Knueppel led the way with 22 points. North Carolina will need to be much better to get the job done on Saturday evening.

All bets are off when these two teams face off, and the latest chapter in their rivalry will be written. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, and Bill Belichick will be watching closely with. We’ll see if Hubert Davis and company take his advice, and utilize it to notch a major victory over Duke.
