During North Carolina’s win over Boston College in the ACC Tournament, star Armando Bacot left with an ankle injury. He later returned, but this left many with questions about his availability against Virginia on Thursday.

However, teammate Caleb Love is sure that Armando Bacot will play.

“He’s tough as nails and he wanted to be out there for this team,” Caleb Love said. “I don’t have no doubt that he’ll be ready to play tomorrow, and so that just goes to show how much Armando cares about this team, this program.”

This is just one of several injuries that Bacot has suffered this season. He’s already missed time due to an ankle injury, so it’s not unreasonable for fans to be concerned. Still, Caleb Love insisted that he’s going to put his body on the line for a win.

“Then it just shows how much he’s willing to put his body on the line for this team.”

North Carolina will take on Virginia on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Why Armando Bacot returned against Boston College

Despite his injury, Armando Bacot did return to play against Boston College. After the win, he explained why this was important for him to do.

“I just took a wrong step and I rolled it a little bit, but I’m gonna be fine,” Bacot explained.

“I mean, it was a must win. And I didn’t want to kind of leave it out there for them to have a chance to come back. So I told the coaches… I’ll give them a good four to six minutes to just give us a bump. And then we ended up coming out [and] getting a good enough lead to where I could sit out.”
