LOOK: Erin Andrews gives hilarious take on Hubert Davis fire during interview
Veteran sideline reporter Erin Andrews took notice of UNC coach Hubert Davis as he delivered a fired-up and powerful interview during the championship game. Davis couldn’t control his excitement at his team’s effort in the first half against Kansas, giving a fantastic interview with CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson. Andrews, a long-time NFL sideline reporter with Fox Sports, admitted that she wished every interview was as great as Wolfson’s.

All eyes appear to be on the NCAA Men’s National Championship Game on Monday, including sports figures who have the night off. Andrews and Wolfson are two of the most recognizable sideline reporters in the sports world, and Andrews definitely noticed Wolfson’s work as Davis gave an unforgettable interview.
“Would LOVE every interview to be like that. Awesome,” said Andrews on her social media.
Davis’ energy reached his team as well, as the Tar Heels entered the half with a 15 point lead against a Kansas team that looked dominant all tournament long.
Fans were quick to point out Andrews’ own history of excellent interviews — including a memorable NFL moment with then-Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman in the 2013 NFL playoffs. After securing a game-winning interception in the NFC Conference Championship by tipping a pass, Sherman erupted for the camera on San Francisco’s Michael Crabtree as Andrews let him go off.

“Pretty fun game, isn’t it?! We’re competing out there,” shouted an animated Davis. “It’s live action, Tracy. It’s live action out there. I thought we were nervous at the beginning then we started to settle in. We got better defensively, now we’re attacking the basket — we’re ready to go.”

Davis was asked how he felt about Armando Bacot’s performance in the game as he battles injury, and his coach kept the same level of enthusiasm for his big man.
“He’s doing terrific, I’m so proud of him,” said Davis. “I told you, 15 [or] 2 percent — him on the floor is good news for Carolina basketball.”
North Carolina’s offensive rebounds proved to be the difference early, as they scored on each of their first six offensive boards for 14 points. As they began their run, defense played its part as well as they held Kansas to a stretch of three minutes without scoring. As the second timeout of the game was called immediately following a Kansas turnover, Davis could be seen on the sideline cheering harder than anyone else at his team’s terrific effort.
