WATCH: Former Head NFL Doctor uses video evidence to give bad news on Armando Bacot
Late in the Final Four game against Duke, North Carolina Tar Heels center Armando Bacot rolled up his ankle and was clearly showing discomfort. Although his status heading into the national championship game against the Kansas Jayhawks was never in question, Bacot is still clearly dealing with some pain.
Running out of the locker room Bacot was moving gingerly, favoring his good ankle. As he approached the stairs to step onto the court, the North Carolina star slowed down, making sure to make sure nothing else happened.
Former head NFL doctor Davis Chao gave his take on the situation, not giving news Tar Heel fans would want to hear.
“Armando Bacot going to play but clearly favors right ankle, especially up the steps,” Chao said. “Single step only on right.”

Bacot has been one of the biggest factors in North Carolina making their NCAA Tournament run, being a complete monster down low. Between getting buckets on the offensive end and being the best rebounder throughout the five games, if the Tar Heels are going to win on Monday night, Bacot will have to be a big reason why.
After their win against Duke on Saturday, Bacot himself gave an update on his health.
“I feel great, better than ever,” Bacot said via USA Today’s Dan Wolken.
So far in the game, Bacot has been playing, leading North Carolina in Tar Heels in scoring with seven and recording five rebounds as the under eight timeout. He’s well on his way to securing another double-double, something he has done at every tournament game.
It’s been quite the ride for Bacot who will be looking to cap Monday night all off with confetti dropping from the roof and lifting a trophy with his teammates.
