Hubert Davis details how Seth Trimble has fared since returning from injury
It might not have shown up on the stat sheet, but North Carolina guard Seth Trimble appeared to be regaining his form in a recent win over NC State.
Trimble has been back in the lineup for the last two games after missing an extended period due to a head injury he suffered in practice in late December.
“I was really happy with Seth’s activity, especially in the second half,” coach Hubert Davis said. “He was able to get steals, deflections, get into the open court, which Seth is really gifted and really good at. It just takes time to get back into that rhythm.”
During the game against the Wolfpack, Seth Trimble recorded a pair of steals to help get the transition offense going. He also pulled down five boards and scored four points, dishing out a lone assist.
It’s a far cry from what he was doing before the injury — even with the drag of the subpar last two games in his return from injury, Trimble is averaging 12.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

The sooner he fully recovers his form, the better.
“The two and a half weeks that he missed, you just have to find a rhythm,” Davis said of Seth Trimble. “The only way that you can find a rhythm in basketball is actually playing. The only way you can get in basketball shape is playing basketball.”
North Carolina will continue to reintroduce Seth Trimble until he’s all the way back. But his minutes the past two games have been a good sign that he’s feeling better.
“I’m just happy that Seth is back, because he is a huge piece of our team and we need him in so many different areas out there on the floor,” Davis said. “I’m just glad that he’s back in the lineup.”
Seth Trimble and North Carolina will return to action on Wednesday night when they host California at 7 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.
