Hubert Davis shares what disappoints him most against Wake Forest
North Carolina dropped its third game in a row after losing 92-85 to Wake Forest on the road Tuesday night. The loss dropped the Tar Heel to eighth in the ACC standings heading into the weekend.
Tar Heels coach Hubert Davis was disappointed in his team following the string of losses, and revealed what has bothered him the during the stretch.
“I won’t lump all three games [together], so I’m just specifically directly talking in regards to this game. The only thing that I’ve ever wanted as a coach is I just want a team with my personality,” Davis said postgame. “And we just didn’t play that way in the first half. … We played nothing like we practiced the last couple of days. And we played nothing like I thought we were going to play and respond today in the first half, and we just didn’t.”
There’s a clear disconnect between the North Carolina team Davis leads on the practice court and the North Carolina team Davis leads onto the court on game day. Davis wants his guys to have the discipline to block out the noise when it comes to friends, family and social media.

If they can keep their heads on straight, the sky is the limit for the Tar Heels with one month remaining before its time for the postseason. The teams that can focus on the task at hand are the ones that have a better chance of being successful, Davis said.
The Tar Heels will look to snap their three-game skid at home against Clemson on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET live on ESPN2. The Tigers are currently tied for first-place in the ACC (10-3), and would be a huge resume-building win for North Carolina in front of its home fans in Chapel Hill.
