Jacksonville State transfer offensive lineman Will O’Steen has committed to North Carolina via the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. A nice addition for Bill Belichick’s Tar Heels.

While O’Steen was not given a rating as a recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings, it’s evident the Tar Heels see something special in him. They’re rebuilding the trenches, and they’ve added multiple players during the spring portion of the transfer portal.

In addition to O’Steen, former Arizona defensive lineman Isaiah Johnson has committed to North Carolina. He’ll be a redshirt junior this fall after playing the last two seasons for the Wildcats, and three overall.

He was most productive in 2024, appearing in 10 games for Arizona while logging nine tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a QB hurry. In 2023, he appeared in two games after redshirting the previous year.

Before college, Johnson was a three-star recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 1,356 overall recruit in the 2022 class, as well as the No. 144 player at his position.

Additionally, Johnson isn’t the only defensive lineman to commit to the Tar Heels over the past few days. It was revealed that former Florida defensive lineman D’antre Robinson will be on the Tar Heels’ roster next season.

Robinson totaled 16 tackles during his lone season with the Gators. He recorded one sack during the 2024 season.

Before college, Robinson was a four-star recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He was the No. 267 overall recruit in his class and the No. 27 overall defensive lineman. Robinson also ranked as the No. 32 overall player out of his home state of Florida.

Now, both are set to join Bill Belichick’s inaugural roster, along with Will O’Steen, in Chapel Hill for what is expected to be an exciting first season under the legendary NFL head coach’s guidance. They kick off the regular season on Monday, Sept. 1 against the TCU Horned Frogs inside Kenan Stadium.

Kickoff is already slated for 7:30 p.m. ET. A date and time most in Chapel Hill likely have circled on their calendars.
