The congratulations are flying in from all over the place for new North Carolina coach Bill Belichick, including from the likes of famed rapper Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne chimed in on the hire on Twitter on Thursday afternoon, dropping a nice bar in homage to Bill Belichick. Check it out below.

“Man much respect 2da GOAT coach Bill Belichick!” Lil Wayne wrote. “Not sure why they’re all hatin but I believe it to be envy and just a bunch of folks that don’t know how to simply say ‘congratulations’ or nada! A wise man once said ‘u can luv me or hate me, I swear it wont make me or break me.'”

Of course, the next line after that in Lil Wayne’s song ‘Love Me or Hate Me’ is “I’m goin’ wherever tha money take me.”

That certainly seems appropriate, given that Bill Belichick will reportedly command a $10 million per year annual salary at North Carolina on a five-year contract.

Regardless, you can tell that North Carolina’s hire has seriously pushed the needle. After all, how often do you get one of the rap game’s biggest stars chiming in on a coaching hire?

Lil Wayne wasn’t the only one to weigh in on Bill Belichick, either.

Deion Sanders issues message to Bill Belichick

Colorado coach Deion Sanders made sure to add his voice to the mix on Thursday morning.

Sanders, who has been the source of intense scrutiny at every stop, knows a thing or two about the magnifying glass Belichick will be stepping under.

He thinks the big man is perfectly equipped to handle it.

“Coach Bill Belichick is a coaches Coach to All us Coaches along with my man Coach Saban!” Sanders wrote on Twitter. “They’re game changers and they know how to move people forward. I know this is a great thing for College Football & for North Carolina. God bless u Coach, if you’re happy I am 2! #CoachPrime”

That’s a warm sentiment from someone who has weathered plenty of criticism after shifting to the college game in his own right.

It’s not one shared by everyone, but Belichick will get plenty of chances to prove his doubters wrong in the coming years.
