LOOK: North Carolina star photo bombs Michael Jordan, Roy Williams
After North Carolina’s 100-80 beatdown of the N.C. State Wolfpack on Saturday, the Tar Heels’ star center Armando Bacot, Jr. decided to have a little fun in a picture. There was a picture being taken of former Tar Heel basketball coach Roy Williams and Michael Jordan, a Tar Heel legend and the greatest basketball player ever to play the game.
Check out the photo bomb below. Bacot made the picture his new profile picture on his Twitter page.
Bacot has been known to make jokes on Twitter, he and Michigan center Hunter Dickinson had a funny exchange in the off-season about their bulging biceps. Bacot and Dickinson were former AAU teammates on Team Takeover.
In the big win over N.C. State today, the talented center scored his 1,000th point as a Tar Heel, becoming the 79th UNC player to do so, an NCAA record. Bacot has lived up to his lofty five-star ranking as a high school prospect. He’s been stuffing the stat sheet all season long for the ‘Heels.
Today, he also racked up his 16th double-double of the 2021-2022 season. He pumped in 18 points and corralled 13 rebounds for North Carolina in the win. He also swatted six shots for the ‘Heels.
Caleb Love continues to make his case as one of the best guards in the ACC, he poured in 21 points with five assists. Much like Bacot, Love was a former five-star prospect coming out of high school. The gifted guard is proving scouting services across the country right.
North Carolina dominated N.C. State on the glass, 35-27. UNC also did a good job of sharing the basketball with 17 assists to N.C. State’s 9. North Carolina was scorching hot from beyond-the-arc in this game, nailing 15 of 27 three pointers. It was UNC’s third straight win.

Bacot making his own kind of history for North Carolina
On Jan. 24, he became the first North Carolina player in 57 years with 10 straight double doubles. There’s no question he’s a front runner for ACC Player of the Year and if he keeps racking up stats the way he has been lately, he’ll be tough to beat out for the hardware.
Roy Williams honored at halftime with the 1982 national champions
Roy Williams was honored at halftime of the N.C. State game and that’s why there was a picture of him with Michael Jordan. The Tar Heels’ 1982 National Championship team was honored at halftime, as well.
When Williams retired, there were a limited number of fans in attendance due to the pandemic and many people in the UNC athletic department wanted to properly honor him in front of a much bigger crowd.
When he finished historic career at North Carolina, Roy Williams compiled a record of 485-163. In 18 seasons, he led them to three national championships, four national title game appearances, and five Final Fours.
