LOOK: UNC Football reveals uniform combination for season-opener vs. Florida A&M
The North Carolina Tar Heels have announced their Week 1 uniforms. In a tweet put out by the UNC Equipment and North Carolina football Twitter accounts teamed up to announce the first uniforms that the Tar Heels will wear in 2022.
UNC is one of the teams who opens its season in Week 0. So, when they say Week 1, they mean it will be their first game, not that it will be happening during the traditional Week 1 of the season.

As always for North Carolina, the uniforms are fantastic. UNC is going to be wearing white helmets with a Carolina blue stripe. Then, they’ll have Carolina blue jerseys on with white pants. It’s a clean and classic look for the Tar Heels.
UNC is going to be playing Florida A&M, an HBCU school from the FCS. In their own right, however, Florida A&M has some of the best uniforms in all of college football to go with one of the best bands.

Predicting UNC’s 2022 season
North Carolina has been a difficult team to judge under Mack Brown. With Sam Howell at quarterback, the Tar Heels flashed tons of offensive potential and played in the Orange Bowl. It was the program’s first-ever Orange Bowl birth. UNC followed that up by struggling to go bowling.
In 2022, UNC is a complicated program to judge. In Mike Huguenin’s preseason 1-131 rankings, he has the Tar Heels ranked 52. Meanwhile, ESPN predicts that North Carolina is Holiday Bowl bound.
“The post-Sam Howell era begins for the Tar Heels, who were a massive disappointment last season. The defense, especially the secondary, looks to have the necessary pieces to be at least decent. And while WR Josh Downs is a legit star, questions abound on offense.”
