Mack Brown had plenty of reason to celebrate after North Carolina’s victory over South Carolina. Known for his electric locker room dance moves, Brown did not disappoint.

In fact, he recreated a viral dance video in the postgame locker room. Grabbing a football, Brown made sure his team was watching to celebrate the win.

You can see Brown get down with it in the video below.

Brown must’ve been pleased with his team’s effort. Quarterback Drake Maye led the way and despite throwing two interceptions, turned in a decent performance.

He finished 24-of-32 passing for 269 yards, two touchdowns and two picks.

On the ground, Brown saw a solid performance from British Brooks. Brooks finished with 15 carries for 103 yards and fellow running back Omarion Hampton had 37 yards and two scores.

Going into the fourth quarter, it was all North Carolina. The Tar Heels held a 31-14 lead over the Gamecocks.

On the flip side of things, Spencer Rattler did what he could under center for South Carolina. He went 30-of-39 passing for 353 yards but did not throw a touchdown.

Mack Brown dances following UNC win over South Carolina

The offense was up and down throughout the night, but Brown’s defense came to play. It was a stark difference compared to 2022.

“We can be good,” Brown said postgame. “We’ve got good players. We’ve got good coaches, I thought until we had the turnovers, the offensive staff had a brilliant game plan to start the game. They ran the clock, they had no sacks, were good in the red zone, and eight for 13 on third downs. And the way they ran the ball we had 20 minutes at halftime to South Carolina’s 10 that kept the defense off the field.”

Brown mentioned UNC’s defense did a great job getting off the field quickly.

“And part of that was the defense getting three and outs,” Brown said. “So we played better as a team tonight and our staff worked better as a group trying to help each other. And there was never any panic or being mad because there was a turnover or we didn’t get the onside kick, it was even keel and they just played with a lot of emotion. They kind of took it as a challenge.”

The No. 21 North Carolina Tar Heels return to action Saturday, September 9 when they host Appalachian State.
