Mack Brown dresses as a pirate with grandkids on Halloween
While his general disposition does not exactly scream scalawag of the high seas, North Carolina head coach Mack Brown didn’t seemingly have much of an option for his Halloween costume. His grandkids were pirates, so Brown is a pirate.
And the genial head coach shared a lighthearted message of good wishes for trick or treaters on Halloween night. Plus, from the look of the picture he shared, Brown did more than just dress up, as he also decked out a golf cart or some sort of four-wheeled vehicle to look like a pirate ship.
“Captain Mack and the grandkids say Boo!” Brown said on social media. “Have a fun and safe night of trick or treating.”
And it’s a safe bet that by the time one or two trips around the neighborhood have been made, Brown and his crew of pirates will have plenty of treasure in the form of oodles of candy.
All that’s left is christening Brown with a pirate moniker — perhaps “Captain Mack Sparrow,” in a nod to the Pirates of the Caribbean character. Either way, the captain of the ship will surely have earned some serious brownie points with his grandkids for the get up on Halloween.
Brown isn’t the only football figure getting in on Halloween
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett unveiled a QB graveyard Terminator-themed Halloween decoration at his home. The QBs featured are Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Trevor Lawrence and more.

Garrett shared the decorations on his Instagram account. Ahead of last Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, Garrett dressed up as The Terminator.
Garrett didn’t just wear any Terminator costume, though. Instead, he went all out and even had a hyper realistic mask that made it almost impossible to tell that it was him in the costume, with his massive stature being one of the few things to give him away.
Garrett is known for going all out during Halloween. Per WKYC, the 28-year-old had a QB graveyard display at his home in 2021. In 2022, Garrett had a Stranger Things theme in his yard and most recently had a Jeepers Creepers Halloween display.
Garrett might be the NFL’s king of Halloween, but the former Texas A&M star also knows how to “terminate” quarterbacks. Through eight games this year, Garrett has notched four sacks. Since starting his career with the Browns in 2017, Garrett has recorded 92.5 sacks and has had six double-digit sack seasons.
