WATCH: North Carolina drops hype video ahead of ACC showdown with Wake Forest
The North Carolina Tar Heels currently sit at 8-1 overall and they’ll face one of the best quarterbacks in the ACC this weekend in Wake Forest’s Sam Hartman. While he’s thrown six interceptions in his last two games, Hartman still has shown the ability to put up prolific numbers the past few years. Saturday’s game will feature North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye and Hartman–two of the best quarterbacks in the conference. Check out the hype video North Carolina dropped ahead of the ACC showdown with the Demon Deacons.
North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye is unstoppable
North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye has soared up the Heisman contender charts in the past few weeks and he’s also moved up to the No.1 spot on Dennis Dodd’s Heisman rankings. He’s been putting up video game numbers all season long. Last week against the Virginia Cavaliers, he racked up over 350 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns in a 31-28 victory. Many NFL scouts are saying that Maye will not only be the No. 1 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, but that he’s good enough to go No. 1 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Since he’s a freshman, he won’t be officially eligible to be selected until the 2024 NFL Draft.

The attention, both for the Heisman Trophy and the NFL Draft, are both well warranted. Maye has simply carried the Tar Heels on his back all season long. He’s thrown for 2,964 passing yards, while tossing 31 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Not only that, Maye has added 513 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground. There might not be a player in America that’s more valuable to their team than Maye is to the Tar Heels.
North Carolina and Wake Forest will face off on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 PM EST. Wake Forest is currently a 3.5 favorite in the game. The matchup will be played in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
