North Carolina RB Jordan Louie enters NCAA Transfer Portal
North Carolina running back Jordan Louie has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Louie spent two seasons with the Tar Heels.
Louie did not make any appearances for the Tar Heels in the regular season. He made one appearance in the 2023 campaign, recording one carry for zero yards.
Jordan Louie played high school football at Meadowcreek (GA), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 596 overall recruit and No. 41 running back in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
In his senior campaign at Meadowcreek, Louie amassed 1,558 rushing yards and 15 touchdown. For his efforts, he reeled in All-Region 7-A, all-county and Touchdown Club of Gwinnett first-team honors.
When Louie committed to North Carolina, he spoke highly of head coach Mack Brown.
“Mack Brown is a great guy,” Louie said. “The thing I like about them is that they’re straightforward. They don’t sugarcoat. They don’t try to make you feel this or make you feel this.
“I like people that are going to be straightforward with you instead of trying to shoot me the bullcrap and then I get there and it be something totally different. I want you to be honest with me before all that happens.”

Perhaps part of Louie’s decision is due to North Carolina firing Brown after the Tar Heels fell to Boston College in Week 13. North Carolina’s decision to fire Brown was a shock, as the 73-year-old head coach had announced he would be returning to the program next season only the day before.
Shortly after North Carolina announced it would be parting ways with Brown, the UNC headman released a statement.
“While this was not the perfect time and way in which I imagined going out, no time will ever be the perfect time,” Brown wrote. “I’ve spent 16 seasons at North Carolina and will always cherish the memories and relationships Sally and I have built while serving as head coach.
“We’ve had the chance to coach and mentor some great young men, and we’ll miss having the opportunity to do that in the future.”
