The North Carolina Tar Heels are preparing for a big time match up with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. The Tar Heels have decided to break out some retro uniforms for their showdown with the Fighting Irish. Check out these sharp looking uniforms UNC will be rocking on Saturday.

They are vintage uniforms and certainly some of the sharpest the Tar Heels have worn over the years. North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye has gotten off to one of the hottest starts by any quarterback in school history, throwing for 11 touchdown passes while tossing in just one interception through three games thus far. He’s led the Tar Heels to three wins, but they haven’t come easy.

North Carolina has won their last two games (Georgia State and Appalachian State) by a total combined score of nine points. They throttled Florida A&M in their first game 56-24, but the Rattlers put up a valiant effort in that game.

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye has looked incredible

Maye had quite the debut against Florida A&M. He became just the second ACC quarterback in the past 15 seasons (Jameis Winston was the other) to throw for five touchdown passes and complete 75 percent of his passes in his first game. Maye looked like one of the front runners for the 2022 ACC Player of the Year award en route to leading his team to a 56-24 victory over the FAMU Rattlers in Week 0.

Not only did Maye’s five passing touchdowns set the school record for the most passing touchdowns by a North Carolina player in their first start, but he also surpassed his father, Mark Maye’s career-high passing touchdown mark of four touchdowns that he threw in 1987 against Georgia Tech.
