RJ Davis breaks North Carolina record for most career 3-pointers
North Carolina has a new career 3-point leader, with RJ Davis burying his 300th during a game against Campbell on Sunday night.
His 300th make moved him one past Marcus Paige, a former player with the program turned assistant coach. Paige was on hand on the bench to witness the history-making moment.
RJ Davis was on fire to start the contest against Campbell.
In addition to making his first three 3-point attempts, Davis also scored a bucket from the floor. He had accounted for 11 points within the first seven minutes of action, potentially headed for a career night.
The veteran guard has been on an absolute tear to start the 2024-25 season, too.
RJ Davis has scored in double figures in every single game this season, while topping the 20-point mark three times and notching a 30-point outing in a game against Dayton.

The accolades have followed Davis throughout his career. He became the first Tar Heels player to earn consensus first-team All-America honors since Justin Jackson in 2016-17. In doing so, he became one of just 11 North Carolina players to make every team the NCAA uses to determine consensus honors (AP, NABC, USBWA, Sporting News).
He is the only Tar Heels player with 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists, 250 three-pointers and 100 steals.
He ranks in the top five in career scoring for the program, too.
RJ Davis also became the first UNC guard to be a consensus/unanimous first-team All-America since Joseph Forte in 2000-01.
Suffice it to say he’s having one heck of a career and one heck of a night so far.
