After missing the last three games with an upper-body injury, Seth Trimble has at least returned to the practice floor for North Carolina.

Hubert Davis shared the latest on Trimble while speaking with the media on Monday. He said that he did practice with the Tar Heels yesterday ahead of their matchup against SMU on Tuesday.

“Um, he practiced yesterday,” Davis said. “Did one, what is it, full-contact drill.”

However, Davis won’t know more until he sees Trimble later today when they practice again in Chapel Hill.

“But I haven’t spoken with him today and we have practice at three so I’ll have more of an update after practice today,” noted Davis. “But he did practice yesterday.”

Trimble has been unavailable in each of the last three games for UNC since the Champion’s Classic. One was a 16-point over Campbell but the two since the turn of the calendar were conference games on the road with a 13-point loss at Louisville and a close win by a point this weekend at Notre Dame.

In the dozen appearances so far of his junior year, Trimble is having a career-best season by far with averages of 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.7 assists with splits of 47.9% from the field and 38.5% from three. That has him first on the team in steals, second in rebounding, and third in scoring to this point.

Trimble hasn’t played since before Christmas just over two weeks ago. He might be ready to go again, though, against the Mustangs tomorrow depending on how he is at practice today for UNC.
