Armando Bacot ties Billy Cunningham for most double-double in school history

North Carolina Tar Heels star forward Armando Bacot is continuing to rack up the accolades with the program. And in Tuesday’s game against the Boston College Golden Eagles, Bacot inched this way into becoming the Tar Heels’ all-time double-double leader after tying current record holder Billy Cunningham at 60.

The six-foot-11 senior forward from Richmond, VA, didn’t even need the entirety of the first half to pick up career double-double number 60. With a little over two minutes left in the first half, Bacot picked up point number nine and ten to go along with his 11 rebounds.

With a little over two minutes to go in the first half, the Tar Heels currently lead Boston College 30-22. North Carolina has enjoyed a solid performance from there are other senior forward, Pete Nance, and his return from injury. Nance has six points on 2-4 shooting from beyond the arc.

2024 Five-Star SG Ian Jackson commits to North Carolina

Ian Jackson, a five-star shooting guard in the 2024 class, has committed to North Carolina.

The 6-foot-5 prospect out of the Bronx (NY) Cardinal Hayes ultimately chose the Tar Heels over offers from Kentucky, Oregon, LSU, and Arkansas. He also received offers from Kansas, UCLA, UConn, and others.

Jackson is the fourth player to commit to Hubert Davis in the 2024 class. He joins five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau (No. 9), four-star big man James Brown (No. 30), and four-star shooting guard Drake Powell (No. 49). North Carolina currently has the No. 1 ranked recruiting class for 2024.

According to the On3 Consensus, Jackson ranks as the No. 2 overall prospect in the country. The On3 Consensus is the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, On3).
