Washington safety Peyton Waters has signed with North Carolina through the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Waters spent just one season with the Huskies, playing in all 13 games during the 2024 campaign. He finished with five tackles on the year.

Prior to enrolling at Washington, Peyton Waters was ranked as a four-star prospect with a 95 grade by On3. He was not ranked by any other major recruiting services and thus does not have an On3 Industry Ranking.

On3 tabbed Waters as the No. 106 overall prospect in the 2024 class, as well as the No. 10 safety in the class. He also checked in as the No. 7 overall player from the state of California, hailing from Los Angeles (CA) Birmingham.

Washington teammate also inks with UNC

Peyton Waters wasn’t the only former Washington player to head to the east coast to play for Bill Belichick.

Washington transfer wide receiver Jason Robinson officially signed with the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday evening, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. He redshirted during the 2024 season.

During his high school career, Robinson played the senior year of his high school football career with San Juan Hills. Initially, he attended Long Beach Poly as a sophomore and junior. He helped to guide San Juan Hills to an 11-2 overall record and the CIF Southern Section Division III playoff semifinals in 2023. He hauled in 68 catches for 900 yards and nine touchdowns.

Minnesota transfer also signs with Tar Heels

In addition to the Washington duo — Peyton Waters and Jason Robinson — North Carolina also added a pledge from a Minnesota transfer.

DB Coleman Bryson has signed with North Carolina out of the NCAA transfer portal. On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed the news on Friday morning.

Bryson had spent the past three seasons as a redshirt sophomore with Minnesota. While with the Golden Gophers, Bryson posted 54 tackles, four deflections, and an interception that went for a pick-six.

On3’s Wade Peery and Sam Gillenwater also contributed to this report.
