Grand Rapids (Mich.) Forest Hills Central three-star safety Ty Hudkins announced his decommitment from the Northwestern Wildcats on social media Wednesday night.

Hudkins originally committed to the Wildcats back in June before former Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald was dismissed from the program amidst hazing allegations.

Hudkins is the nation’s No. 1196 overall prospect and No. 110 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 22 player in Michigan.

Hudkins the latest to leave Wildcats’ 2024 class

With Hudkins’ decommitment, Northwestern’s numbers in its 2024 recruiting class continue to dwindle. The Wildcats are down to just eight commits and rank last out of 18 Big Ten schools. Northbrook (Ill.) Glenbrook North three-star tight end Pat Schaller, the nation’s No. 881 prospect, headlines the class.
