Coopersville (Mich.) four-star interior offensive lineman Gabe VanSickle has announced his decommitment from the Northwestern Wildcats.

“After discussions with my parents and coaches I have decided to decommit from Northwestern University,” VanSickle wrote. “My dream has always been to play football at the highest level, and I’m pursuing my dream. I would like to thank coach Anderson, coach Fitzgerald and coach Braun for their support. NWU has picked a class act for a new head coach. Both coaches were a calming force over a very turbulent summer. I wish nothing but the best to NWU. Go Cats!”

On3 rates VanSickle higher than every other major recruiting service. He is the nation’s No. 253 overall prospect, No. 14 interior offensive lineman and No. 5 recruit from Michigan.

Ohio State leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 95.7% chance of receiving VanSickle’s commitment. Buckeyes recruiting insider Alex Gleitman logged an expert prediction with a 60% confidence level that VanSickle will choose Ohio State.
