Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger safety Jacob Lewis has committed to Northwestern, announcing the news on social media Friday.

The news comes one day after Lewis visited the campus.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to Northwestern University. The campus is beautiful and the academics are amazing. The coaching staff is great and so are the players, and that is something I truly can’t wait to be a part of,” Lewis said in a commitment graphic.

He is the fifth member of the 2023 Wildcats recruiting class along with Dearborn (Mich.) Divine Child three-star offensive lineman Dylan Senda, Mount Prospect (Ill.) Prospect three-star athlete Frank Covey IV, Naperville (Ill.) Naperville North three-star quarterback Aidan Gray and Joliet (Ill.) Joliet Catholic Academy three-star offensive lineman Anthony Birsa.

Birsa committed to the program about a week ago.

Senda as a four-star recruit and the No. 271 prospect in the 2023 On300 ranking. His current On3 NIL Valuation is $8.7k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
