4-star PF Carey Booth commits to Notre Dame
Carey Booth, a four-star power forward in the 2023 class, has committed to Notre Dame.
The 6-foot-10, 205-pound senior out of Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy was originally signed with Penn State, but reopened his recruitment after former Nittany Lions’ head coach Micah Shrewsberry accepted the open head coaching position at Notre Dame after Mike Brey stepped down.
Booth has now decided to follow Shrewsberry to South Bend and discussed his decision with On3.
“I chose to follow coach Shrews to Notre Dame because I feel like its a unique opportunity to grow under one of the best minds in basketball and in one of the NCAA’s toughest conferences,” Booth said. “With these two things in mind, it made it a pretty easy decision to follow him.”
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Booth ranks as the No. 71 overall prospect in the 2023 class. He’s also the nation’s No. 13 power forward and the No. 4 player in the state of New Hampshire.

Carey Booth Scouting Report
“Carey Booth has a long and lanky frame with natural athleticism. He plays with a high motor, creating multiple chase-down and weakside blocks. Booth knocked down three or four threes in both games we watched; the release was consistent and high. Booth is still raw as he will need to continue tightening his ball skills and shot selection. He will also need to continue adding weight. However, the intrigue comes with his ability to knock down threes and protect the rim. Continue building on that, and there could be a long and productive career in store.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
