4-star receiver Joshua Manning offered by Notre Dame
Programs across the Midwest have known about Lee’s Summit (Mo.) wide receiver Joshua Manning for quite some time now. But national programs are beginning to take notice of the four-star receiver as well, including Notre Dame, which extended him an offer on Wednesday evening.
Manning is the No. 281 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 41 wide receiver and the No. 8 junior in the state of Missouri.
On3 is much higher on him than the other three major recruiting sites though, according to the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 rankings, Manning was tabbed as the country’s No. 163 prospect, No. 26 wide receiver and No. 5 player from the Show-Me State.
His skill set has jumped off the page to On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power, who had this to say recently:

'Don't damage our tables, coach'
“Joshua Manning checks several boxes as a receiver prospect. He’s a technically savvy pass-catcher with the ability to separate with his routes and pick up yards after the catch. We also see Manning make some plays on the ball in the red zone. He elevates and shows high-point ability in contested catch situations. Manning also has a good athletic profile. He’s clocked 11.15 seconds in the 100 meters this spring and is an all-state long jumper. He also has above-the-rim athleticism on the basketball court.”
Notre Dame joins a growing list for Joshua Manning
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Manning had flown under the radar nationally until this fall, but he is no longer an unknown. Notre Dame joins Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and more than a dozen in others in pursuit of Manning.
He made a number of unofficial visits this spring, visiting each of the aforementioned schools, as well as a trip to Arkansas last month. Kansas, the school he has visited more times than any other, is currently the leader for his commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
