Notre Dame 5-star commit Keon Keeley posts photos from visit
It is early in the 2023 recruiting cycle, but Tampa Berkeley Prep five-star EDGE Keon Keeley looks like the type of player a good coach buiolds a recruiting class around.
Luckily for Brian Kelly, Keeley has already committed to Notre Dame. And it appears he is loving the Fighting Irish.
Keeley posted photos from his trip to South Bend, Ind., this weekend for Notre Dame’s victory over North Carolina.
Keeley has been committed to Notre Dame since the summer. He told Sports Illustrated’s Irish Breakdown that the beautiful campus, academic prestige and stout football program were the main reasons why he committed to the school.
“Academics mean a lot to me because you never know how far football can take you,” explained Keeley. “Being at a place where I know I can succeed off the field as well as on the field, and no other place can match it. Being able to learn every day at a high level is just amazing.”
There are few prospects having as good of a fall as Keon Keeley
Keon Keeley is a fast riser on recruiting boards all across the country, including with On3’s experts.

When the updated 2023 On300 rankings were released about two weeks ago, Keeley earned five-star status and moved to the No. 5 slot in the rankings. No other recruiting service has him ranked in the top 100.
On3’s Gerry Hamilton said Keeley has the highest upside of a strong 2023 EDGE group.
“Not only is Keeley blessed with a frame college coaches covet, but he has the quick feet, change of direction, closing burst and advanced understanding of pass rush to go with it,” Hamilton said. “The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder with long arms has been one of the most productive pass rushers in the Southeast this season for the Buccaneers.”
On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power later added that Keeley has one of the highest ceilings of any recruit in the country — regardless of position.
“We saw Keeley’s considerable ability on display last week in a nationally-televised game against Arch Manning,” Power said. “He pairs exceptional length with plus athleticism and flexibility to create a bunch of problems off the edge. Keeley is having a phenomenal junior year as well with 12.5 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss. He was compared to Kayvon Thibodaux during the ESPN broadcast and I can see the resemblance from a dimensions and coordination perspective.”
