There is a familiar program back at the top of the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. Notre Dame surpassed Ohio State for the nation’s No. 1 class after a commitment from Austin (Tex.) Westlake four-star wide receiver Jaden Greathouse on Friday afternoon.
With his pledge, Greathouse became the 20th recruit in the Fighting Irish’s 2023 class, which is comprised of 1 five-star, 16 four-stars and three three-stars. The group is led by Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep five-star EDGE Keon Keeley, the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus.
Greathouse chose Notre Dame over Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas. He is the 10th Fighting Irish commit ranked in the top 50 of the On3 Consensus.
The 6-foot-2, 219 pound wideout is the No. 128 overall prospect and No. 21 wide receiver in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 21 player in Texas.

About the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings
The On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings is the most advanced, complete and unbiased ranking measurement in the industry, yet its simplicity makes it easy for fans to follow and understand.
It solves the problem of varying class sizes during the recruiting cycle. It compiles the highest-rated commits for each team up to a total based on a rolling average of current total commitments among Power 5 schools.
With this model, there are no bonus points for having more commitments than other teams and only small deductions occur when a team has fewer commitments than the rolling average. Unlike distribution (bell) curves, this model doesn’t disproportionately weight a team’s top three or four highest rated commits and is a more accurate representation of an entire class.
