3-star SG Cole Certa commits to Notre Dame
Cole Certa, a three-star shooting guard in the 2024 class, has committed to Notre Dame.
The 6-foot-5, 175-pound junior out of Bloomington (Ill.) Central Catholic chose the Fighting Irish over offers from Nebraska, Illinois, Butler, Northwestern, and others.
Certa is the No. 178 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 34 shooting guard and the No. 6 junior recruit in Illinois.

Certa on his commitment to Notre Dame
“I chose Notre Dame because of the relationships I built with the coaching staff,” he said. “I felt like a priority and I love the way they believe in me. Lastly it was because it felt like home when I was on campus and I knew right away this is where I wanted to be.”
Scouting Report
“The shooting is the take home with Cole Certa. When he is able to get his feet set and his base locked in, he knocks down shots. He’s recently hit a growth spurt and he is still growing into his lengthy 6-5 frame, but he is developing his ability to create space off the bounce. He is a fluid athlete with solid lateral mobility and solid verticality. As he continues to add strength his game could continue to blossom. The shooting is the takeaway.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
