Notre Dame defensive back Antonio Carter has entered the NCAA transfer portal according to a post from his Twitter account.

Carter spent the first four seasons of his collegiate career at Rhode Island, breaking out in the 2022 season after starting all 11 games for the Rams and recording 60 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and 10 pass breakups.

He transferred to Notre Dame ahead of the 2023 season, serving primarily as a reserve defensive back for the Fighting Irish with 8 tackles and a forced fumble on the season. Carter re-enters the portal as a graduate with one season of eligibility remaining.

Carter played high school football at Orlando (FL) Oak Ridge, where he was an unrated and unranked recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
