As of Dec. 11, Notre Dame currently has 23 commitments, 13 of whom are projected to play offense, while 10 are expected to play on the defensive side of the ball.
The Irish’s class checks in at No. 10 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking.
Notre Dame Class Breakdown
Notre Dame’s class consists of one five-star, 12 four-stars and 10 three-star prospects. Headlining the class as the lone five-star commit is Glen Ellyn (Ill.) Glenbard South wide receiver Cam Williams.
Four additional top-100 recruits are committed to Freeman and Notre Dame: West Roxbury (Ma.) Catholic Memorial four-star offensive tackle Guerby Lambert, Saline (Mich.) four-star QB CJ Carr, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa and Charlotte Christian four-star EDGE Bryce Young.
Additionally, three top-200 pledges bolster the class: Lukfin (Texas) four-star running back Kedren Young, Fort Wayne (Ind.) North Side four-star athlete Tae Johnson and Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward four-star EDGE Loghan Thomas.
Four-star and five-star prospects are rated as ‘blue-chip’ prospects — Notre Dame’s class sits at No. 16 nationally in blue-chip percentage at 56.52%. The average distance of a Notre Dame recruit’s hometown to South Bend is 624.5 miles and just 9% of the class hails from the state of Indiana.
Top Commit: WR Cam Williams
The 6-foot-2.5, 196-pound Williams is the highest-ranked offensive and overall commitment for the Fighting Irish this cycle, ranking as the nation’s No. 30 overall prospect and No. 9 wideout. He has been committed to Notre Dame since June 29, 2022.

On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this about him as a prospect:
“Athletic receiver who creates big plays in a variety of ways. Has good size, measuring around 6-foot-1, 185 pounds as a junior. Owns plus length at the position, with arms over 33 inches. Has clocked 40-yard dash times in the 4.4’s at college camps. An easy, twitchy mover who shows the ability to separate vertically and take the top off of opposing defenses. Shows the ability to change gears on vertical routes. Also proves to be dangerous after the catch. Runs with tempo and pace as a ball-carrier. Looks to be a strong YAC receiver with the ability to maximize yardage with the ball in his hands. Turned in a productive junior season with 882 yards and 13 touchdowns on 44 catches. Has a very strong multi-sport background as a standout in basketball and track.
…Shows some above-the-rim bounce on the hardwood. A very strong athlete in track, running a 10.86 second 100 meter mark as a junior and posting a 6-foot-5 high jump as a sophomore. Can continue refining some of the technical aspects of his game like route-running and consistently high-pointing the football, though he has shown some flashes with the latter. Looks to have high physical upside as a multi-dimensional receiver pending further skill development.”
Top Defense Commit: LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Viliamu-Asa is the highest-ranked pledge for the Irish on the defensive side, checking in as the No. 62 overall prospect and No. 6 LB. He committed to Notre Dame on July 23 over USC and Ohio State.
Viliamu-Asa told On3’s Hayes Fawcett this upon his commitment:
“What really stood out is how I would get the best of both worlds. I didn’t have to compromise my education nor opportunity to play football. At Notre Dame I can do both. But honestly man i couldn’t see myself there, but I could at the two other schools. But I read Hebrews 11:1 which talks about faith as assurance in the things we can’t see. And going to the mountains really solidified my answer because I felt God wanted me to have faith, which required trusting in what I could not see.”
“I have a great relationship with the whole Defensive Staff. Coach Freeman too. I’m closest with Freeman and Chad Bowden. But they plan on using me in a way that would allow me to impact the game in different ways. I loved seeing how they would utilize my versatility to put me in positions to do a lot of different things on defense.”
