ESPN has released game-by-game predictions for every Notre Dame football game in the 2022 season, based on FPI.

This comes with a little more than a month before the college football season starts. For their part, Notre Dame begins play on September 3, 2022, with a trip to the Horseshoe to play Ohio State.

2022 is the first full season under new and first-time head coach Marcus Freeman. Promoted from defensive coordinator to head coach before Notre Dame’s Fiesta Bowl loss, there is a lot of excitement for Freeman. He faces a difficult schedule to open his tenure with Notre Dame, though. After the Week 1 trip to his alma mater, Freeman needs to face off against schools like Clemson and USC.

In total, ESPN’s FPI has Notre Dame entering 10 out of 12 games as a favorite in 2022. If that holds true, Marcus Freeman will start out with a 10-2 record at Notre Dame. Given that Notre Dame plays as an Independent, meaning they have fewer bowl tie-ins than teams in a conference, it is hard to say what bowl a 10-win Notre Dame team would land in. There’s a good chance they’d get another shot at a New Year’s Six Bowl with that record, though.
