Notre Dame, Marcus Freeman agree to massive contract extension
Notre Dame has come to an agreement with coach Marcus Freeman on a significant contract extension, according to a report from ESPN’s Heather Dinich.
According to Dinich, the contract extension is believed to be a four-year extension that locks him up for six years in total. The new deal will make him one of the highest-paid coaches in the country, but specifics were not disclosed because Notre Dame is a private institution.
Freeman was quoted by Dinich, as well.
“The investment they continue to pour into our program is invaluable to our student-athletes and staff,” Marcus Freeman said. “This commitment goes well beyond myself, as they are dedicated to ensuring all aspects of our program are competitive within the upper echelon of college football.”
Notre Dame is in the middle of an excellent season, one in which the program secured a berth in the College Football Playoff.
