Notre Dame learned more about its 2024 schedule on Wednesday. NBC announced its full slate of Fighting Irish matchups, including two primetime games.

Notre Dame’s home opener Sept. 7 against Northern Illinois will be NBC’s first broadcast of the year with a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff. The games against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 21, Stanford on Oct. 12 and Virginia on Nov. 16 will also be on NBC in that window, while the Sept. 28 matchup vs. Louisville will be a Peacock exclusive with the same time slot.

The Fighting Irish will play two primetime games in November, as well, with the Florida State matchup as the highest-profile at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9. That contest will be at Notre Dame Stadium as Marcus Freeman’s group takes on the reigning ACC champion. Notre Dame will then head to Yankee Stadium to take on Army at 7 p.m. ET on Nov. 23 as part of the Shamrock Series.

The Fighting Irish will open the 2024 campaign at Kyle Field against Texas A&M on Aug. 31. That game will be on ABC with “College GameDay” in attendance. Three games – against Georgia Tech, Navy and USC – still did not have kickoff times or TV designations at the time of publication.

Notre Dame and NBC’s agreement was set to expire after this season, but the two sides announced an extension through the 2029 season – continuing a partnership that goes back to 1991. The deal also includes a Peacock exclusive, which will be the Louisville game this year.

“We are thrilled to continue our historic collaboration with our partners at NBC Sports,” former Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said in a statement announcing the extension. “In the next generation of this partnership, we will collaborate to provide our fans even more Notre Dame content through a variety of NBCUniversal’s distribution channels while continuing to put our student-athletes and their stories at the heart of our messaging.”

Dan Hicks will return to Notre Dame booth in 2024

Notre Dame fans will notice a new sound when they watch games on NBC. Although a familiar face is back in the booth.

Jac Collinsworth is out as play-by-play announcer after two years and Dan Hicks will step in to replace him. Hicks previously called Notre Dame games for NBC from 2013-16 before Mike Tirico took over, but will now don the headset again alongside Jason Garrett this season.

The 2024 campaign is also a big one for NBC. The network is entering its second year as part of the Big Ten’s media deal, alongside FOX and CBS. As part of the agreement, NBC will hold the primetime window for the conference, although Notre Dame will have games in that window twice in 2024.
