Week 1 is in the books for Notre Dame and NC State, and the two teams are now getting set for their Week 2 showdown. The betting odds are now out for the game, as well.

Notre Dame opened as a 6.5-point favorite over NC State in the matchup, according to FanDuel. The over-under is set at 48.5.

Saturday’s game will mark the fourth meeting between the Wolfpack and Fighting Irish, and the first since 2017. That resulted in a 35-17 Notre Dame victory in South Bend.

Both teams got big wins this past week. NC State played a Thursday night game against UConn and came away with the 24-14 victory. It was the first chance for the Wolfpack to show off their new offense, led by quarterback Brennan Armstrong after he transferred from Virginia.

Armstrong put together a solid showing in the effort, totaling 155 yards on 17 of 26 passing, but he made even more noise with his legs. He led NC State with 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Wolfpack past UConn. Jordan Houston came in right behind him with 57 yards as NC State totaled 206 rushing yards on the night.

Payton Wilson once again looked like someone who could anchor the defense as he looks to build on a big 2022 season. He led the way with 10 tackles and a tackle for loss against UConn as NC State kept the Huskies to just 273 total yards of offense.

As for Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish picked up right where they left off against Navy in Week 0. Wake Forest transfer Sam Hartman only played in the first half, but he impressed once again as he went 14 for 17 for 194 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing in a touchdown of his own to lead Notre Dame to a resounding victory over Tennessee State.

Audric Estime once again starred at running back for the Fighting Irish. He rushed for 116 yards and one touchdown as he continues to impress following a big day against Navy. Notre Dame brings a 2-0 record into the game against NC State.

Notre Dame’s special teams unit continued to play well even despite losing coordinator Brian Mason to the NFL. The Fighting Irish blocked a field goal to keep Tennessee State at bay as the defense held strong to keep the Tigers to just three points on the night.

Kickoff between NC State and Notre Dame is set for Sept. 9 at noon ET on ABC.
