Notre Dame OT Michael Carmody enters the NCAA Transfer Portal
Notre Dame offensive tackle Michael Carmody has entered the transfer portal.
Carmody did not make any appearances for the Fighting Irish this season. He received surgery to repair his broken hand in Week 0. While in South Bend, Carmody amassed 11 appearances, including two starts.
Carmody played high school football at Mars Area (PA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 131 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Carmody posted a heartfelt message on social media along with his announcement.
“The last four years of my life have been a blessing,” Carmody wrote. “Thank you to the coaches who gave me the opportunity to become a Notre Dame Football player and to my teammates for making ND such a special place. It has been an honor to battle with you guys.
“With that being said I have decided that it is time for me to find my next opportunity to continue my journey in this game that I love. I will be entering the transfer portal with multiple years of eligibility.”
