Special guest to host Marcus Freeman's introductory press conference at Notre Dame
When Notre Dame fans flip on the press conference that introduces their new head coach on Monday, a familiar face will be hosting.
Brady Quinn, a former Irish quarterback and current FOX analyst, is set to run the show for the 2:00 p.m. ET press conference to welcome new head coach Marcus Freeman.
“I’m happy for Marcus. I think he’ll continually get better and better and better as a head coach,” Quinn said Friday. “He continued to improve just as a defensive coordinator. The players love him. You see the energy around that place. He kept everything intact. I mean look at how many coaches went with Brian Kelly to LSU. If that gives you kind of any indication of how they feel about Notre Dame, the rest of the coaches on that staff, the players in that locker room, and their opportunity moving forward. It kind of just goes to show you that they feel differently than the head coach felt obviously leaving.”
Freeman was officially named Notre Dame’s 30th head football coach on Friday. He is just 35 years old, making him the youngest head coach in the Power Five.
In addition to a speech from Freeman himself, president Father John Jenkins, athletic director Jack Swarbrick and three Notre Dame players will talk at Monday’s event.
