The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have released a hype video ahead of their much anticipated matchup on Saturday with the Wisconsin Badgers in Chicago.

The highlight video takes fans through a number of plays from Notre Dame’s season, including this 41-yard touchdown by tight end Michael Mayer. The game is the first matchup between Wisconsin and Notre Dame since 1964.

Graham Mertz faces quarterback Jack Coan

Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz will face off against former Badgers and current Notre Dame quarterback Jack Coan.

Coan’s most impressive game of the season came in the heart-stopping 41-38 overtime win against Florida State in overtime.

All Coan did was torch the Seminoles secondary to the tune of 366 passing yards, while tossing four touchdowns and an interception. His numbers were good enough for the most passing yards in a Notre Dame season opener in the history of the school, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

The Florida State secondary has been more than generous this season in pass coverage, surrendering 289 yards per game, ranking them 116th in the nation in that stat category.

Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz played poorly against Penn State, completing 22 of his 37 attempts for 185 yards, while tossing two interceptions, and no touchdown passes.

Notre Dame defensive lineman Isaiah Foskey

Notre Dame junior defensive lineman Isaiah Foskey has been dominating this year for the Fighting Irish. In just three games, he’s stuffed the stat sheet: 15 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries. Foskey has noted in interviews that an off-season visit with future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald really helped his preparation for games.

Donald is a tremendous teacher of the game and truly enjoys passing knowledge onto the next generation of players. Fans can see that in his camps and watch the way he interacts with his teammates in the National Football League.

Notre Dame and Wisconsin kick off Saturday in Chicago at Solider Field. The game is labeled as the 2021 Shamrock Series.
