Class of 2024 running back Sam Williams-Dixon of Columbus (OH) Pickerington North High announced his commitment to Ohio State Saturday afternoon.

The 5-foot-10, 195 pounder chose the Buckeyes over Penn State, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

Williams-Dixon on why he chose Ohio State

“What really drove me to consider Ohio State was the communication with Coach Alford. Just getting to talk to him more, see him more, and being able to be on campus a lot more now stood out. Having those conversations (good and bad) and just being around the practices, the players and all the coaches , it just feels like home. It feels like they are your family, and everyone is so nice there. They treat my mom and siblings so incredibly well, and I just want to thank them for recruiting me and taking a chance on me.”

Relationship with coaching staff stood out

“My relationship with Coach Davis and Coach Alford have similar likes and dislikes in some ways and we always have something to talk about. We are just on the same page.“

What it means to stay home to Williams-Dixon and family

“I think it’s going to mean a lot to my family and just to have that feeling that I’m staying home would be such a great feeling for them. That way they can watch me play, and come to my games. I think I can be the next Archie Griffin coming out of an inner-city school just like he did. I want to be a legend and put on for the city of 614.”
