The Ohio State Buckeyes are looking to go back-to-back, and reign supreme over the college football world once again after capturing a national title this past season.
With that in mind, FanDuel Sportsbook has released the over/under as it pertains to wins for many of the sport’s top teams for the 2025 campaign. Ohio State’s number has been set at 10.5, and that’ll be their benchmark for this coming season.
The Buckeyes’ schedule lends itself to the belief of success for 2025. They’ll start off their championship defense with a highly anticipated showdown against the Texas Longhorns on Aug. 30, which will serve as a rematch from their College Football Playoff Semifinals clash earlier in January. However, it certainly lightens up after that.
After beginning their season with a home clash against the Longhorns, Ohio State will welcome Grambling State and Ohio to Columbus over the following weeks. Their first road game won’t come until Week 5, as they’ll travel to take on Washington after a bye.
Some stiff competition remains on their conference schedule, like Illinois, Penn State and of course Michigan. Their game against the Wolverines specifically will be one that takes a creates a ton of attention, as Ryan Day has faltered over the past couple of years against his program’s hated rival.

Additionally, the game will be played in Ann Arbor, after Michigan upset the Buckeyes at home in 2024. While their national title eased the sting of their loss to the Wolverines, Ohio State fans are going to want to defeat Michigan more than ever in 2025, and they’re expecting Day and company to deliver.
While the program is in tremendous shape at the moment, there’s plenty of change taking place in Columbus, as well. Chip Kelly left Ohio State the program for the Las Vegas Raiders, creating a conundrum for the Buckeyes.
Fresh off a national championship, defensive coordinator Jim Knowles will also be replaced in 2025, and he’ll even be coaching on the opposite sideline, joining the Nittany Lions. As you can tell, Day will have his hands full, and not a ton of time to get his team ready for some intense battles.
Regardless, Ohio State is enjoying their victory over the rest of the college football world, as they added another trophy to their resume at the end of the 2024 crusade. Will they be able to reach 11 wins in 2025? That remains to be seen, but count the Buckeyes out at your own risk.
