Aaron Bradshaw injury update: Jake Diebler reveals availability of Ohio State forward vs. Texas
Ohio State forward Aaron Bradshaw will be available in the Buckeyes’ season opener against Texas on Monday, per Jon Rothstein. Bradshaw, who transferred in from Kentucky this offseason, was unavailable in the Buckeyes’ exhibition against Cincinnati due to a concussion.
In 26 appearances for the Wildcats last season, Bradshaw averaged 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 57.6% from the field and 28.6% from beyond the arc. Bradshaw’s best game of the season came in Kentucky’s win over Penn when he tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Bradshaw missed the beginning of the 2023-24 season due to a foot fracture he suffered in the summer. Nonetheless, once healthy, Bradshaw showed flashes of promise. After John Calipari left Kentucky for Arkansas this offseason, Bradshaw entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Bradshaw played high school basketball at Camden (NJ), where he was a five-star recruit, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Bradshaw was the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 1 center in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Standing at 7-foot-1 with an imposing wingspan, Bradshaw boasts size you can’t teach.
Fittingly, in July, ESPN named Aaron Bradshaw one of six players in college basketball with breakout potential. He’ll fit in nicely with the Buckeyes’ budding roster, which finished the season strong after parting ways with Chris Holtmann in February and naming Jake Diebler the program’s interim head coach.

In Diebler’s first game at the helm of the Buckeyes, he led the team to a storybook 73-69 upset over Purdue, who went on to be the national runner-up. Diebler and Co. didn’t stop there, winning five of their final six games of the season.
Now, with three transfers and key returners such as Bruce Thornton, Ohio State will look to take a step forward in Diebler’s first full season as the team’s head coach. The journey will begin on Monday as Ohio State squares off against No. 19 Texas at 10 p.m. ET on TNT.
Diebler is ready for the challenge.
“I’m excited about our program being on a big stage game one of the college basketball season,” Diebler said. “Being on this stage Day 1 of college basketball is something our guys are really excited about and our fans deserve.”
