Top-20 recruit Aiden Sherrell sets official visit to Ohio State
One of the top big men in the class of 2024, Aiden Sherrell, will take an official visit to Ohio State on June 8th.
This marks the fifth official visit for the 6-foot-11 four-star center. He’s also visited Alabama, Michigan State, Oklahoma, and UNLV. It should also be noted that players can now take unlimited official visits and are no longer limited to five their junior year and five their senior year.
In a recent interview with On3, Sherrell discussed Ohio State, as well as another potential visit and his previous trips.
“(Ohio State) lets their young guys play; they give them the opportunity to get their minutes,” Sherrell said. “They run a great program, and I can definitely see myself fitting into their system pretty well.”
Sherrell, who will play his senior year of high school at Prolific Prep in Napa, Calif., also mentioned Michigan as a potential visit.
“I have a great relationship with Coach Juwan (Howard),” Sherrell said. “He sees me being a key player in their program. He could really help me grow as a player if I went there.”
Sherrell talks previous visits to Alabama, Michigan State, Oklahoma, UNLV
Alabama: “They produce guys who are long and lengthy, guys like me who are very versatile,” Sherrell told On3 previously. “The relationship with the coaching staff is what brought me out there. I have built a great relationship with all those guys. When I got out there, I got to see the environment, the intensity of their practices is high, and that is why they are so productive right now.”
“They are still on me hard, even after losing all of their assistants,” he added. “The new coaches got right on me. I definitely see that and appreciate that for sure.”
Michigan State: “They said I could come in and be productive on both sides of the floor,” Sherrell told On3 previously. “They want to play me inside and out. Joey Hauser will be gone by the time I get there, so I could come in and help them out.”
“They’re like a family there,” he added. “They talk to my mom a lot, my who family, really. We have a great relationship that continues to grow. They’ve come to see me play a lot.”

Oklahoma: “I definitely see myself fitting well in that system. They play through their big guys, and they trust them to facilitate a lot, which is something I want to do.”
UNLV: “They have a great program; they’re a winning program,” Sherrell told On3 previously. “I’ve developed a great relationship with them; we talk a lot.
“When I took my visit, I was surprised at how much they had there,” he added. “It was a beautiful campus and everything. They are building a great program.”
Aiden Sherrell Scouting Report
“Aiden Sherrell has a muscular frame with long arms,” On3’s Jamie Shaw writes. His strong base allows him to establish a good position on the block where he is a good area rebounder. He is bigger than you think, and his length plays a big role around the rim. He scores it away from the basket, with 3-point range off the catch, and he can score with back to basket, finishing over both shoulders, in traffic. He has solid explosion, getting above the rim in traffic. He is a good rebounder, especially in his area. He is growing as an out-of-area and offensive rebounder. At this point, he is most effective playing from the inside out. He can push the break off the rebound and attack under control. There is a lot there, great natural tools, and has produced at a high level this season.
“What intrigue Aiden Sherrell showed throughout April. This is something that has really been growing over the last 12 months, Sherrell has always had the pieces to his game, but he confidence to put it all together has been on the upward swing. At 6-11, Sherrell is averaging 13.5 points on 55.9% FG and 44.4% 3P with 1.2 blocks in 18.5 minutes a game for loaded (and undefeated) Vegas Elite team. You do want to see him rebound it better, but the trajectory he is on has been impressive to watch.”
Sherrell, a native of Detroit, ranks as the No. 32 overall player in the class of 2024 according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3’s evaluators are much higher on Sherrell, ranking him 18th overall in the class.
