Brian Hartline believes he could beat every FBS offensive coordinator in a fight
Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline recently made an appearance on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast. There, the subject of fighting came up and Hartline was asked if he could beat Michigan’s Mike Hart in a fight.
It turns out that Hartline has a bit of bravado in him. In fact, he thinks that he could beat Hart in a fight. Not just that, Hartline says he could beat every single FBS offensive coordinator in a fight.
“Me,” Brian Hartline said. “Oh yeah. Any OC in the country. They’re all losing. Oh yeah. Beat them all.”
Hartline is in good shape, but it’s tough to be sure that you can beat all 130 other offensive coordinators. However, it’s less about the practical approach to things than it is a mental approach.
“Like I tell my players, if you can’t see yourself as the dude, you’re never gonna be the dude. You ever met a dude that didn’t know he was the dude? Like if you don’t view yourself as that person, you’re never gonna be that person.”
Ryan Day also made an appearance on the podcast and once again the subject of fighting came up with Day explaining that he thinks PJ Fleck would be the hardest Big Ten coach to fight.
“I would say probably, you know who would be — PJ [Fleck] would be hard because the guy’s got so much energy,” Ryan Day said.

Brian Hartline detailed his ambitions as a coach
Brian Hartline is an excellent recruiter and is seen by many as an up-and-coming coach in college football. However, he doesn’t see his future in college football, but rather in the NFL.
“In my soul, I’m an NFL guy. I love the NFL. I think it’s the all-star league of college football. I don’t care where you’re from, what school. Small, big. Like, it’s the best players in the world. There’s no better other players,” Hartline said.
“I love the degree of separation being so small. So, I love my alma mater, Ohio State. My heart is in the NFL. One day, I think I will want to coach there. That’s the reality of it.”
