Ohio State assistant Brian Hartline has become a hot name for some of the head coaching positions that are opening up here at the end of the college football season. The former star Buckeye wideout returned to Columbus in 2017 to help out with the wide receivers, and wound up coaching the position, which he still does now. Hartline also was officially named the passing game coordinator at OSU and is in his first season holding both that position and being the WRs coach.
The young offensive mind has had his name thrown in the ring at a few places so far this offseason, with The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman naming local rival Cincinnati as a team to watch for Hartline after the Bearcats just lost Luke Fickell to Wisconsin.
However, Brian Hartline himself came out Thursday and dispelled any such rumors about him darting for a new school. As of now, says Hartline, he’s focused on the Buckeyes. Here was his statement on Twitter regarding the rumors surrounding him:

“I am aware of the speculation surrounding my name connected to other vacant coaching positions and appreciate all of the support, but right now my heart is at Ohio State and I do not have any plans to go anywhere else. #GoBucks.”
Obviously, things can change and change quickly if Hartline does get offered a job. But for now, he’s standing pat at Ohio State.
