Ohio State tight end Cade Stover announced his return to the Buckeyes for the 2023 season rather than test the NFL Draft this spring.

Stover made his announcement official on Twitter to run it back with the Buckeyes. Ohio State fell short to Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinals, 42-41, at the Peach Bowl.

Stover seemed pretty excited, at least through social media, and kept his announcement rather simple.

“I AM COMING BACK,” he wrote.

Stover switched from linebacker to tight end after just one season. He had his best season in 2022 catching the football, reeling in 36 passes for 406 yards, five touchdowns and 11.3 yards per catch.

He has 41 career catches, 482 yards and five touchdowns with the Buckeyes.

As a member of the Class of 2019, Stover was a four-star prospect out of Mansfield (Ohio) Lexington, according to the On3 Consensus. He was the No. 4 overall prospect in the state, the No. 14 linebacker prospect in the class (before switching to offense in college) and the No. 114 overall prospect in the class.
