Cardale Jones calls out fake Ohio State fans, Ryan Day haters
The Ohio State Buckeyes thoroughly dominated the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday night, outclassing them to the tune of a 41-21 whipping that won’t soon be forgotten in Columbus. And while Buckeye fans have been quick to celebrate the big victory on social media, former OSU star Cardale Jones was ready to call plenty of them out on Twitter. And he came with an impassioned defense of head coach Ryan Day, who has been heavily criticized for losing to Michigan for four straight seasons.
“For all your fake Buckeye fans and Ryan Day haters, the complete dominance on defense and great play calling on offense vs. Oregon, the apologies need to be just as loud as the hate!!” Jones explained Wednesday evening.
The Buckeyes dominated the Ducks in every way, shape, and fashion on Wednesday, outgaining them 500 total yards of offense to 276 total yards. And Jeremiah Smith delivered a masterful performance to fuel the Buckeyes.
Smith is one of the best prospects the game has seen in quite some time. The uber-talented wideout played like it on Wednesday night in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, allowing Ohio State to jump all over the Oregon Ducks in their College Football Playoff Quarterfinal matchup. And they didn’t look back, coasting to a 41-21 Rose Bowl victory. Smith was dominant, hauling in seven catches for 187 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

He was named the Rose Bowl offensive MVP following the game. And his 187 receiving yards set the school receiving yardage record for a single game. Cris Carter set the previous record in 1985, which also happened in the Rose Bowl. Not only that, Smith also shattered the Big Ten record for the most receiving touchdowns by a true freshman.
During his career with Ohio State, Cardale Jones completed 61.9% of his passes for 2,323 total passing yards, while tossing in 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions. In the 2014-2015 College Football Playoffs, Jones was a critical piece that helped guide the Buckeyes to the 2015 College Football National Championship. He racked up 280 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in leading OSU to a 42-20 victory in their national championship game against the Oregon Ducks.
